Social Skills
“As a hallmark feature of Autism, Social skills deficits may occur in different ways throughout the lifespan.” – Dr. Wiley
Our center offers weekly social skills programs for children and adolescents diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, high functioning autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Many of the children with these diagnoses have social and behavioral deficits, creating difficulties in making and maintaining friendships. Our center addresses these concerns by providing the children with the opportunity to learn appropriate social language skills in a structured yet fun setting. Each month, students participate in a Community Based Outing (CBO) to facilitate improvements and generalization of learned skills.
